Our CNSP Annual General Meeting will take place October 15 @ 4-4.30pm EST (directly following the October Community Conversation). Additional information, including the meeting link, agenda, and voting materials, will be circulated in advance.

This year, members will be asking the membership to vote on several proposed changes to the CNSP Board.

As CNSP has grown, so too have our activities, partnerships, and responsibilities. To support this growth and broaden the expertise represented in CNSP governance, the Executive will be gauging membership interest in adding two additional voting positions to the board before a formal change to the bylaws.

  •  Membership Engagement Officer (currently held by Kenneth Dyson);
  • Faculty Relations Officer. This position is intended to strengthen CNSP’s connections with faculty researchers and leaders while also helping the organization identify and pursue new funding opportunities. The Faculty Relations Officer would work with the Executive to identify relevant grant programs and help lead grant applications that align with CNSP’s national mandate. As CNSP continues to expand its programming and support for the scientific platforms community, developing new sources of funding will be important to the organization’s long-term growth and sustainability.

    If the membership agrees to consider these voting positions, the will update their by-laws and hold a future election to fill these positions.

Executive Board Elections

Four (4) positions on executive Board are open at the AGM: Vice-president; Treasurer, Eastern Canada Representative and Central Canada Representative

Positions of Vice-president; Treasurer, Eastern Canada Representative are open for renewal. The Central Canada Representative, representing Ontario and Quebec position has remained vacant following the passing of our previous Central Representative (Dominic Therrien) earlier this year. We remain deeply grateful for his contribution to the CNSP community and would now like to identify someone who can continue representing this important region, as Ontario and Quebec together contain the largest concentration of scientific core facilities in Canada, making strong representation from this region particularly important to the CNSP Board.

If interested in the positions please, submit a statement of interest and a short bio to info@cnsp-rcps.ca by October 5, 2026, 5pm ET
